Elk Grove Veterans Memorial

Oscar Ocon places his brick in the Veterans Memorial

Family and Cosumnes CSD staff cheered as Oscar O'con lowered the first brick into the Elk Grove Regional Veterans Memorial on October 3. Oscar O'con, U.S. Army and Marine veteran who served in South Vietnam and at El Salvador's U.S. Embassy, has led the Elk Grove Regional Veterans Memorial project for the past 14 years. This beautiful memorial in Elk Grove Park is dedicated to living and deceased military members who have served our country with honor.

Construction is being completed in phases. Phase 1 was finished in 2019, which included the construction of a decomposed granite trail, a flagpole, and a large bronze-colored concrete star. The second phase of the project consists of installing concrete paving, benches, and concrete pavers available for purchase as a dedication to local veterans.

Community members are invited to recognize a local veteran by purchasing an engraved brick or granite tile. Download the order form.
