1. Why is it taking so long to build our park?

The CSD follows a 10-step process for the development of each park. The process can take anywhere from 2 years and 3 months to 3 1/2 years depending on the size of the park. For more information, view the CSD Park Planning Process (PDF).

2. Who decides what goes in a park?

CSD planning staff holds community outreach meetings and follow the design principles contained in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. See Park Design Principles (PDF) for more information.

3. Why is the park by my house listed as unscheduled?

Future parks listed as unscheduled are located in Benefit Zones where assessments are insufficient to support the maintenance of future parks.

4. How is park construction funded?

Park development is funded by impact fees paid by developers at the time building permits are issued. For fee schedules, view the City of Elk Grove 2015 Fee Booklet (PDF).
