Cosumnes Fire Department participates in mutual aid with our neighboring agencies and is called on by the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to assist in larger incident events.
Wildfire Season
According to CAL FIRE, the fire season in California and across the West is starting earlier and ending later each year. Warmer spring and summer temperatures, reduced snowpack, and earlier spring snowmelt create longer dry seasons that increase moisture stress on vegetation and make forests more susceptible to wildfire.
