Biography
Reina L. Tarango has called Elk Grove home for more than 25 years. As a wife and mother of six, she’s seen firsthand how Cosumnes CSD parks, programs, and emergency services make a difference in the lives of local families, including her own.
In her professional life, Director Tarango serves as the Purchase Referred Care Manager for Wilton Rancheria, where she leads one of the Tribe’s largest federally funded health departments. She’s passionate about expanding access to healthcare, mental health, and wellness services.
She also volunteers on the City of Elk Grove’s Diversity and Inclusion Commission and helped organize the city’s first event honoring Native people. Director Tarango is a strong advocate for public health, education, and community safety, and is committed to listening, serving, and uplifting the voices of her neighbors.
