Park Concept Plan

Based on the feedback received, we have developed a conceptual park plan that emphasizes multi-generational use, inclusive design, and mental well-being. The vision for this project is to create a welcoming and accessible space where people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds can connect with nature, engage in recreational activities, and find moments of rest and reflection. The plan incorporates features such as accessible pathways, intergenerational play areas, quiet zones for relaxation, a pickleball complex, separate dog parks for large and small dogs, and community gathering spaces.

Community Engagement Event

Cosumnes CSD hosted a community engagement event to help plan the next phase of development for Derr-Okamoto Park. Many community members took advantage of this opportunity to share their ideas and provide feedback to help shape the future phase of this valued community space.  The Design Drop-in event took place on June 12, 2025.
